2017 Lotus Evora 400 – Read The Only Canadian Review Of This Car, Yet!

IMG_4180nfI have been fortunate enough to have done quite a few exclusives in my career – being the first to test a vehicle from a Canadian perspective, and some even from a global point of view.

Earlier this month, I got to add another exclusive, by being the only Canadian auto journalist invited to the press launch of the 2017 Lotus Evora 400.

My “First Drive” review of this vehicle was published on autofocus.ca – so please give it a read, as this car is certainly worth your attention.

There is a life lesson to be learned here also, and that is to never give up on your passion, no matter what others might try to do to destroy it. A few years ago, a Canadian publication that pretends to be an American publication, bought a review I did on the Lotus Evora S GP Edition, only for its editor to give the article to his minion to completely rewrite it, and hence ruining it. Because my name was still on the top of the article, the manufacturer made a complaint against me to the editor, who used it as a way to get rid of me completely from writing for his publication.IMG_4191nf

I quickly sent a reply email to the PR person at Lotus Cars North America with the original copy I had written. After he saw my draft, he wrote back and apologized.

Being the only Canadian invited to the 2017 Evora 400’s launch certainly felt good – and the other publication was nowhere to be seen. So, if you believe in your abilities, and you’re on a path in life that is of no harm to anyone else, keep at it, and you’ll get what you truly deserve – just don’t let other derail you.
