2016 Galpin-Fisker Mustang Rocket Speedster unveiled at Pebble Beach Concours

speedster-front-34Remember the Rocket Mustang I wrote about very recently! Well, it now has a sibling, and this one is all about fresh air.

Unveiled at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the 2016 Galpin-Fisker Mustang Rocket Speedster carries over the muscle – 725 hp from a supercharged 5.0L V8 – and carbon fiber body panels from the coupe, but now lets others see you more clearly.

A new custom cover over the rear deck turns the usually four-seater Mustang Convertible into a two-seater. Its sleek design harks back to classic speedsters, a shape that is not only pleasing to the eye, but also functional, as it aids air flow over the body.

As with the Rocket Coupe, the Rocket Speedster is not just a concept – even though it is currently sitting at the Pebble Beach Concept Lawn – and will be put into limited production. No pricing is available at the moment, but considering a fully-loaded Rocket Coupe will set you back nearly $160,000 – the Rocket Speedster will surely cost more. I’ll divulge this information as soon as I get it.speedster-34

So, what do I think of the 2016 Galpin-Fisker Mustang Rocket Speedster?

I don’t think I have ever disliked anything penned by Henrik Fisker, and this Rocket Speedster is no exception. It is a stunning design, one that will surely get the attention of others out on the streets and highways. I simply cannot wait to have a go in this, hope that happens very soon.
